Peridot has been a popular gemstone for centuries it was favoured by Cleopatra who was said to be adorned with Emeralds but archeological evidence shows she actually had Peridot as her chosen gem. Ancient Eqyptians thought it was a very spiritual stone and used to crush it to make a tea to drink during ceremonies, Isis was said to have had regular Peridot drinks. Peridot is also mentioned in the Bible under the name chrysolite and has decorated many churches.
